Sister Larsen at the MTC

This is Susan checking out one  of the original 5000 B of M at the MTC during the first week there.  It was a great experience for both of us.  The enthusiasm of the young missionaries was catching.  Also the food was great, no preparation, cleanup or anything.  I got to run up around the temple every morning, talk about a rush.  It was exciting to get back to teaching and into the scriptures again.  The second week, with the CES people was by far the most impressive.  Both of us will never look at scripture study or teaching quite the same again.  What a powerful experience it was.

MTC experience

This is a replica of an actual stone that was found in Sterling, Scotland by Pres. McKay while a missionary there in the late 1800.  It had a quote by Shakespear. "Where Er thou art act thou the part. " It had a great impact on the rest of his mission.  In the early, 1960's while touring the Scottish mission, he told the story and asked the missionaries to look for it.  As a young missionary tracting in Sterling on splits, I can remember looking for it.  Imagine my surprise to find this in the MTC some 46 years later.

Elder Plasier @ MTC

We got alligator  jaws at Dick's market for Elder Plasier at the MTC who was leaving the next day for Italy.  We spent the evening looking for him and finally found him in the Book Store.  It was very exciting for all of us.
